With a 100 knitting machines & a technical collaboration with Daewoo Corporation of South Korea, Savar Textiles Ltd., the flagship company of Savar Group was established in 1983 with the manufacturing facility at a place called Savar, 28 km west of the capital city of Dhaka.

Surma Garments, a sister concern of Savar Group is a fully composite knit manufacturing company producing all kinds of knitwear such as T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Underwear, Boxer Shorts & Sleepwear. A 100% export oriented company working with clientele like Hanes, Tesco, Primark etc. Surma Garments is a proactive and dynamic export enterprise engaged in the manufacture & export of a wide range of knitted garments. Since its inception in 2001 Surma has come a long way. Initially it was started as a small cut & sew project but today it is enjoying an enviable reputation as a quality driven company with an ever growing clientele. Surma is a vertically integrated company providing all facilities in house. We have our knitting unit, dyeing unit & manufacturing unit located under one roof therefore making it capable to execute an order from start to finish in our own facility. At Surma we aspire for complete customer satisfaction with best possible price & incomparable service. With its state of the art manufacturing facility the company has the capacity to manufacture 8 tons of fabric per day along with 700,000 pieces basic styles & 500,000 pieces fancy garments per month. Over the years Surma has invested & upgraded its infrastructure to stay in tune with the changing times & trends in the garment business.

As the first export oriented socks factory in Bangladesh, it was not easy for us in the beginning. In 1983 while Ready-made garments factories were being set up in numbers every day, we were the lone investor & promoter in the hosiery-socks sector (we still remain so). We therefore had to develop our skill & experience in-house, & grew as a family.
